Our
History
 |
The Palm Beach Institute
began providing services in 1977 under the leadership of Dr.
Ronald Katenzaro who continued with the organization until 1998.
During his tenure, Dr. Katenzaro led the program in its
development into one of the most respected and recognized addiction
treatment programs in the country.
The recognition and respect of The Palm Beach Institute was
a result of the services it provided to thousands of individuals
and families over the years and the successful outcomes they
achieved in terms of long term sobriety.
In 1998 a leader in the
addiction treatment industry, Bradford Lovette assumed The Palm
Beach Institute from Dr. Katenzaro who retired.
Mr. Lovette had previously led the development of another
nationally recognized addiction treatment facility in Arizona as
well as a specialized treatment center for Eating Disorders.
Since that time, The Palm
Beach Institute has continued on its tradition of serving
individuals and families affected by or afflicted by alcoholism
and chemical dependency. Opening
its doors in 1970, The Palm Beach Institute is Florida’s oldest
treatment center and one of the longest operating facilities in
the country.

Different from many other
organizations that have pursued corporate growth as their purpose,
The Palm Beach Institute has maintained the model which has saved
so many families and lives. Maintaining a small, highly individualized treatment program
allows our clients to truly focus on the issues that led them here
and to quickly obtain the tools and skill necessary to overcome
and recover from the pain of alcoholism and chemical dependency.
What has kept The Palm Beach Institute in operation for so
long has been the commitment to its original vision and its focus on
the clients needs, as a means of achieving its business goals.
| Quite simply, some
programs have pursued larger numbers of clients, over quality of care and outcomes.
Facilities that have hundreds of clients at any one time
simply can not manage those clients needs on an individualized
basis. Though many
more people may pass through the doors of our colleagues and
competitors, we believe that the outcomes achieved by The Palm
Beach Institute are a direct result of our smaller size and out
ability to treat each client, as a unique individual. |
