The Palm Beach Institute offers a curriculum-based, systemic continuum of care within a substance abuse recovery program from one month to one year for Impaired Professionals. 

The Palm beach Institute, Inc. promotes the use of the twelve step program, abstinence and a system continuum of care to achieve the best possible outcomes for the drug and alcohol addicted clients we serve.  

This substance abuse recovery program concentrates on the first three of the twelve steps during the first two to four weeks of treatment utilizing didactic, group process and individual therapy modalities provided by a host of qualified therapists and medical staff.

During the third week of care, the drug and alcohol addicted client is introduced to a peer monitor and is guided by his/her therapist to identify and gain insight into the issues that have most contributed to their historical use of drugs and alcohol or may contribute the most to their potential to experience relapse.

With these issues identified, the primary substance abuse recovery program therapist works closely with the drug and alcohol client to modify the treatment plan to reflect specific strategies to address these issues while maintaining their core focus on the twelve steps.  Upon completion of the core phase of treatment (minimum of thirty days and up to forty five days) clients may elect to enter transitional care. 

The “Transitional Care” phase of treatment is the second step of the substance abuse recovery program continuum and is designed to assist the drug and alcohol addicted client with the transition from primary care through re-integration in to home, work and society.  Typically, the primary care phase of treatment occurs in a residential setting and is followed by a combination of Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient, and ninety days of case managed aftercare flowed by six months of self managed aftercare.  During transitional care, clients may reside at home or in a structured sober residential setting while attending Partial Hospital, Intensive Outpatient and/or Case managed aftercare in conjunction with peer monitoring.
